Abstract
Technological, economic, and demographic changes
are placing significant pressure on private and
public companies to make more effective use of
human resource management. While declining
productivity and employee dissatisfaction
have given rise to and spread management
tools to combat them, such as quality circles
and employee profit sharing, competitiveness
and the urgent need for Mexican industries to
produce efficiently and meet the country's
social needs require the introduction of
considerably more sophisticated approaches
to human resource input, addressing their
strategic role in organizational performance.
