THE POVERTY OF THE RICH

Abstract

Poverty is something no one likes, neither aesthetically nor emotionally, which is why it is always hidden, and neither governments nor individuals like to confess to being poor, or to hear that their country is poor. When talking about poverty, it is commonplace to refer to what happens in countries in Africa, Latin America, or Asia, since television and newspapers offer daily chronicles that, although they tend to be superficial and falsely emotional, contribute to giving a short-sighted and incorrectly generalized view of the peoples who suffer the injustice of poverty, whom they insist on calling Third World people, despite the fact that this geopolitical division disappeared with the fall of authoritarian socialism.
