Abstract

The relationship between humans and nature is becoming increasingly inescapable. The development of disciplines reflects this, and classifications such as ecological-environmental sciences and economic-administrative-environmental sciences have emerged. Together, these enrich theoretical frameworks for interpreting environmental phenomena and seek efficient strategies for prevention and long-term planning for the benefit of nature and humans.
The contrasting impacts and alterations to ecosystems, habitats, climates, etc. that we have generated with the special "right" to exploit the natural resources of our planetary system demonstrate that we have neglected comprehensive stewardship.

One of the alternatives for this scientific and technological development is environmental management. Based on knowledge from other disciplines, it seeks to efficiently organize the natural and human resources available to a system and achieve the production of environmentally friendly services or products that entail responsibility and payment for the risks of human neglect due to the potential effects of nature on us.
International organizations, governments, businesses, and educational institutions are working to protect the environment. There are many tasks to be developed, contributing to sustainable development and the Agenda 21 agreements.
