EVALUATION OF POSITIONS IN THE SECRETARIAT OF THE NAVY

Abstract

The Mexican Marine Ministry - Navy requires an appropriate methodology in order to evaluate the actual positions in each of the administrative and Navy operating areas because the actual methodology is generally applied for all of those above mentioned. This kind of affirmation has itself lots of truth: to make a complete study on the present positions and give them a real importance is becoming more necessary in the Mexican Marine Ministry - Navy.
This piece of work, as you know, only has the purpose of presenting how the Institution functions are being performed in these days due to the evaluation of the positions, the mission, attributions, organization, the Navy operating areas in behalf of the Navy Command of the Federation, the activities executed in every kind of position or job, the hierarchic organization tor giving jobs for the Institution without noticing if there are some congruence on each of them, in other words, the necessities and differences in the administrative and Navy operating areas not taking into consideration the environmental characteristics, working risks, skills, several kinds of responsibilities per se. Also, the very detailed methodology was sent to the Organizational and Systems Department of DIGEPOP1 under the Mexican Marine Ministry - Navy which duties are: the evaluations of the positions, including those which are performed in the Area herein mentioned. At the end, I show the incongruence I had found personally and I’m considering to be a matter for a future study, as well as position analysis.
Finally, I give conclusions on this essay in which the methodology is suggested to be modified and updated according with the positions' demandings on the specific areas and some recommendations to take into account in order to give one single position on the ones already created and those which will be designed under the importance and the real value they represent for the Authorities on that matter and for this reason, to be fairly paid and to be competitive.
