Code of ethics
The journal Investigación Administrativa adheres to COPE standards. All accepted papers will be reviewed using Copyleaks or iThenticate’s Turnitin software. To be published, the articles submitted must have a maximum similarity index of 24%, provided that the cited authors' paraphrases have been correctly used.
The journal considers it unacceptable to discover that plagiarism or selfplagiarism of research papers has been carried out, the originality and unpublished condition of these papers is a fundamental requirement. Therefore, the authors sign a letter guaranteeing that:
1. There is no conflict of interest.
2. The design of the studies is ethical.
3. Compliance with ethical standards for review is ensured.
4. The publications are original and the journal's policy on plagiarism is accepted.
5. The following instances constitute plagiarism:
■ Direct plagiarism occurs when:
- The authorship is omitted or the glossed text is not cited.
- Minimal changes are made to a third party's text and it is presented as original.
- Although the authorship is noted, plagiarism occurs because the original text is reproduced with a few changes that do not constitute paraphrasing
■ Complex plagiarism occurs when there is a reference to the original author, but the source pages are indicated inaccurately.
■ Paraphrasing as plagiarism occurs when the original source is paraphrased and the reference is not noted. This practice is not considered plagiarism when it does not dominate the work of the author and is used to allow the author to interact critically with another person's points of view by correctly mentioning the source.
■Self-plagiarism or recycling fraud occurs when the appearance of a work is changed and presented as if it were another or it is omitted that it is being recycled.
The following procedures are followed to deal with plagiarism cases:
■ If plagiarism is detected, the authors will be informed of the evidence of the detected plagiarism and will be asked for a response.
■ If the response is not satisfactory, the manuscript will not be submitted for external evaluation and the journal will not receive any more articles from the authors.
■ In serious cases, in the opinion of the editorial committee, the media in which the original plagiarized article was published will be informed (whether it is self-plagiarism or copies from third parties).
