Abstract

The objective was to determine the influence of salary, promotion, and schedule flexibility on the job performance of full-time teachers in upper secondary education in Mexico. The method was quantitative, cross-sectional, and explanatory, involving a survey to 92 teachers and data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results allowed testing the hypotheses, H2 (promotion) and H3 (schedule flexibility) were supported by positively impacting job performance, while H1 (salary) was rejected due to a lack of statistical significance. The findings suggest that professional growth aspirations and work-life balance outweigh base monetary incentives as performance drivers. The originality lies in providing empirical evidence, through robust models, on the hierarchy of compensations in public education. As limitations, the study presents a cross-sectional design, and its results are specific to the regional context analyzed, inviting further corroboration in other areas.
