Abstract

The challenge posed by the country's technological modernization to educational systems requires them to clarify their contributions to scientific and technological activity in national development?
It is the responsibility of higher education institutions to propose alternatives through their graduate studies, which must promote links with the productive sector. This link must address the needs of society, the students, and the needs of scientific development?
Under the above premises, it is worth asking: how can the link between graduate studies and the productive sector be fostered? The objective of this paper is to answer the question posed by analyzing the behavior of higher education enrollment, graduate studies, and the evolution of public spending on science and technology.
