Abstract

We are currently experiencing a change of era rather than an era of change. Events are moving at a dizzying pace, to the point that globalization has caught up with us. International life today bears very little resemblance to that of just 10 years ago.
The Center for Development Research (CIDAC) points out that the global economy has ceased to be the sum of national economies and has become an enormous network of industrial, financial, technological, and commercial interconnections on a global scale. Indeed, the "new" international economy is much more dynamic and changing than in any previous era, requiring constant action by countries, industries, companies, and individuals to maintain productivity, competitiveness, and efficiency in their economies.
