The National Monte de Piedad has decided to launch the quality concept in all its operations, thus it has re-
oriented all effortsin order to provide a better service and increase the number of satisfted clients. This effort has been instrumented througha quality program and widely “institutional Renovation

RICARDO THIERRY AGUILERA*, Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico

He has been a professor at ITESM, Mhico City Campus, since 1985 in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Engineering and Architecture Division. He is also the Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Industrial Technologies at the same institution, as well as the Director of the journals Dillogos, Latindustria, and SisteMQico, and an advisor to various companies in e-commerce. His research interests include Quality Systems Implementation, Ergonomics, Service Logistics, and Merchandising Technology.

ELISEO VILALTA Y PERDOMO, Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico

He holds a Master's degree in Manufacturing Systems from ITESM, Mexico City Campus. He is a Scientific Editor of the Interdisciplinary Center for Industrial Technologies and a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Division of Engineering and Architecture at the same institution. His research interests include Information Systems and Project Management. He is a consultant in both the public and private sectors. He is a PhD student in Information Systems at the University of Lincoln, England.
